Meurisse was founded in 1845 by pastry chef Adolphe Meurisse, a pioneer of Belgian chocolate, as he established the first Belgian chocolate factory in Antwerp in 1845, at a time when chocolate was still a rare treat. Meurisse is the oldest Belgian chocolate brand and has always placed progress at the heart of its mission.
