In 1919, Bradford Dexter Bagg, the founder of B.D. Baggies, was a young college student who, while absent-mindedly rummaging through the closets at home, found a treasure chest full of his father’s old shirts. Sewn in the elegant and durable Made in the USA tradition, they had taken on a worn look over time. The fabric was softer, the silhouette supple and the texture dense, in stark contrast to the stiff suit of the time. Worn by Bradford, the shirts were an instant hit with friends and classmates. The affectionate nickname given to him, B.D. Baggies, which is a play on the word “baggy” and Bradford’s last name, immediately became synonymous with a style that has never wavered.
